“My goal this year is to take my music to the next level. To a point where it can just make an impact culturally and connect with the people who are vibing with my message.”
Yung Kobra said his greatest experience as an artist is when he sees the love he gets from his fans.
“It’s always amazing to hear someone tell me how much they enjoy my art.”
He also stated that he tries to travel at least once every few months to get his music heard more in different places. Kobra addresses his biggest challenge as an artist.
“My greatest challenge would just be trying to stay focused and trying to get through periods of time where I don’t feel creative. Everyone goes through it, and it’s just a matter of weathering the storm until you find that next idea.”
Yung Kobra speaks highly of Kanye West as is the person to inspired him to make music. He stated how he used to listen to him as a kid growing up and how it made him feel while listening. Outside of music, Kobra plans to spend more time with his family and work on building closer bonds with his family. Yung Kobra speaks on his greatest achievements as an artist.
“A few goals I’ve achieved is my song Blame Drugs hit top 25 on iTunes. Over 100K streams in a year. I had my album posted up on Times Square. Nominated for multiple awards locally and nationally.”
His most valued lyrics from one of his songs is,
“I know some ppl that claim that they love me but they sell me out for the dollar. I spent them nights stuck in the jungle, I had to stack up this money and prosper.”
He values these lyrics the most because,
“Those lyrics sum up a lot of what I’ve been through, there’s been so many times that people going to claim they got your back or they really fuck with you but at the end of the day they really in it for themselves, when the cards are down they gonna fold on you. I think the path to a successful and happy life is to be able to pinpoint and weed out those people from your circle. Being stuck in the jungle is really just saying I was really down bad in the trenches and it wasn’t easy but I was able to rise up with this music shit to get to where I’m at now. An artist is just taking pain and turning it into something beautiful, and that’s what I try to do when I’m in the booth.”
His top 5 artists in the music industry are Kanye West, Future, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, and A Boogie. Kobra stated that he has been making music for the last 5 years. He also mentioned that he spend everyday in the studio. Kobra illistrates his support system,
“I have a great team around me. I got 2 managers, a marketing team, and I’ve got some real friends in my circle that’s always there for support and advice.”
He advises upcoming artist great advice.
“Make music for yourself. Make music that you personally enjoy and would listen to, don’t make music with the audience in mind because it’ll always be inauthentic.”
He closed with mentioning that his favorite song released is called “Blame Drugs.”
