Kryptik is an artist from Cleveland, OH who also goes by Dark Karma. She makes Horrorcore and Dark trap music. Kryptik compares herself to the famous ICP. Her next project will be called, “The Truth in Death”. She explains how this album will go into depth about how losing yourself to where you don’t feel human to waking up and understanding you have the power to change your own story.
She further explains,
“As you know with any good old horror movie or horror story, there is blood; gore; pain; torture. Basically a villanelle arc in a sense. Pushing someone to their limits will only bring strife; and if you’re pushing the wrong person- hell unleashes with his best friend, Death”.
Kryptik says she releases music at least once a month. One of her main goals for 2024 is to grow her audience and connect with more people who feel misunderstood.
“I want to show those people that there is more to life and you can push through what you’re going through.”
Kryptik’s greatest experience as an artist is the first live solo she did in New Haven, IN at a place called, “Carl’s Tavern.”
“Shoutout to Sudz and Budz: Night of the Haunted Mask and GotBud!Records. Getting up on that stage after just breaking off from a duo I was a part of and feeling and experiencing the love and energy of everyone around me almost brought tears to my eyes. All of GotBut was super welcoming. JayMc, Rocky Rob, Mike, And Fro were all super supportive and super welcoming. During the second song of my set, Demon Talk; A mosh pit had formed and the energy skyrocketed. That show was genuinely the one experience as an artist that has motivated me to continue to this day. The energy of the underground is something unreal; the love is powerful.”
Kryptik stated that her greatest challenge as an artist is having writer’s block. ICP, SPM, TripThvRipper, $uicideBoy$, Ghostemane; Ouija Macc, and Lil Peep all played a part in influencing her to start making music. She’s also working on her modeling portfolio.
“I model under the name KrYpt1K tha C1owN. I do Clown type modeling/ Alt Clothing modeling. I own my own podcast called “Dead Talk With A Clown” debuting on Spotify and Youtube starting April 24th.”
She also cohosts two other podcast. Tacos for Breakfast with Veles Vicious and HELMZING! with Jase Marshall, Rayne Beran, and Rocky Rob.
“I have achieved booking a small camp stage at the gathering. I have been followed by Violent Jay of icp. I have been able to collaborate with some of the people i have looked up to since i was a kid. I have done multiple solo shows and have been able to create a community for my homies.”
Kryptik stated that her most valued lyrics from one of her songs are,
“im doing my best to forget the pain but my head in a wall makes me never forget that day. nightmares on the daily, depression fuckin raised me, anxietys creeping up im pleading someone come and save me”,
which is from a unreleased song called, “Tired”.
She later expounds,
“This part of the song talks about an abusive relationship i had previously went through and all of the pressure to just hurry up and get over it but in doing so it caused so much more heart ache.”
“Going through that trauma of having my head put through a wall has effected my life in more ways than one, but my music has given me the ability to share my pain and my experiences with people who feel like theyre alone or if theyre feeling like they cant get through this; an outlet to see that there is a light.”
She stated confidently.
Her top 5 artist are; ICP, Ouija Macc, $uicideboy$, Ghostemane, and Yelawolf. She has been recording and releasing music for the last 6 months. She says she spends the most of her time recording. She also stated that she spent 3 days recording once.
I have a pretty amazing support system. My system includes my Mom, my little sister, My brother, my dad, My fiancée, my homiez out in Bowling Green, Shoutout Winter, CJ, Autumn, Viper, Zona, My homiez out at Carl’s Tavern, GotBud? Records, the community i have created and many more along the way. She wants all upcoming artist to know you have to have your own way of doing things, individuality,
“have your own style in so many words.”
“Don’t sign to a major label,”
she stated.
“I would definitely have to say Demon Talk or Wikked Ways are my favorite tracks i have released so far. they are the biggest hits when i do shows and they definitely have the most energy out of my currently released music, however some of the stuff i have coming out within the next few months is definitely a different story!”
