Josh-James known as Bullie Mae is a rap and hiphop artist from Detroit, MI. He stated,
“I make whatever kind of music fits my emotion at the time.”
His latest project is called Kush N Water. Josh tries to release music as much as he can to remain consistent.
“I’m always working on something in my head.”
One of his biggest goals as a musician for 2024 is to be heard, acknowledged, and recognized for his mind and musical capabilities. Josh also mentions that he tries to travel as much as he can to spread his music everywhere. He elaborated on his greatest challenge as an artist.
“Due to how my past developed me I would have to say I need to make myself more available for growth and change.”
His major influence that caused him to start making music is his older brother.
“He died before he had his shot in the music industry.”
Outside of music, Josh states that he wants to pursue a career in the comedy field. He wishes to become a stand-up comedian. His most valued lyrics are from an upcoming song called “I.D.G.A.F.”
“Don’t nobody wanna be a lawyer or even a Dr, everybody wanna try to rap.”
He stated that these are his most favored because simply it’s completely true and relatable. He was asked who is his top 5 mainstream artist in the music industry today and he responded.
“I really don’t have a top five but if I did it would be dylon, dylon, dylon, and dylon… in my chappelle voice.”
Josh let it be known that he has been doing music since he was 11 years old. It took him a while to believe he was as good as everyone told him he was.
Josh has a home studio. He lives in his studio. He referred to his studio time as working g 24/7. Josh wants to advise all upcoming artist,
“If it feels wrong, don’t do it. and know that everything and everyone in the music industry has a hidden agenda. Pace yourself but stay relevant because you’re only as good as your last project, stay humble but stay hungry and look both ways before crossing these musical streets.”
He also wants to world to know,
“Hands down it’s the song I made after my accident, loss the use of my legs and took 7 years to heal and I’m still on the mend, but I’m definitely not stopping.”
