T Gunna is an artist who lived back and forth between Rockland/Brockton Massachusetts.
“I’ve lived in several cities and states but you can say New England for real!”
He stated that he makes music that he likes to make.
“It’s me it’s authentic and extremely unapologetic. I show up as me no matter the situation or environment.”
The latest project he is working on will be his first album. Projected to be released sometime in April of 2024. When asked how often he releases music he implied,
“Not enough! I’m sitting on well over 100 songs! All from different stages or eras of my life. I often listen to my older records and I was definitely more reckless way back then.”
T Gunna says he will hold himself more accountable for not releasing music as a goal throughout 2024.
T Gunna spoke of working with legends when asked what his greatest experience was as an artist.
“Duane DaRock Ramos, Cassidy, and Young Buck. Young Buck is a cool dude man. Real humble dude. He didn’t even have to respond to me but he did and for that, he will always have my respect.”
He said he doesn’t travel enough and also will step up his traveling game as another goal for this year.
His biggest challenge as an artist is consistency.
“Staying consistent. When I’m focused I feel like I can go bar for bar with anyone. It’s not hard showing up as me. That’s the easiest part of all of this.”
His biggest influences coming up are Jay Z, Biggie Smalls, P Diddy, and 50 Cent. They all had an impact on the creativity that he holds to create good music. T Gunna has plans to buy properties and build his portfolio.
He elaborated,
“Topmics winner of Massachusetts and New York, I got to perform at the Biggie tribute at The Point in the Bronx. Meeting like-minded people. Making money from my music. My music saved me from being homeless. That was a time when I got kicked out of the house and I was homeless for a bit. The owner of a club that I performed in saw me looking for a room or place to stay and he had a room at one of his properties that had other roommates and it did what it needed to for the time being,”
his achievements he accomplished as an artist already.
His most meaningful lyrics are,
“Mastering the power of free will now acknowledge me undoubtedly haters steady move around me cowardly talk behind my back but in my face acting proud of me. These last few years were definitely my hardest years in all of my years of existence. People tell you that they love you but when your backs turn they’re going against you. People seeing what my life was truly like up close and not caring. Deception manipulation betrayal all of these things and I can still smile to this day when people try to intentionally hurt me or do me wrong. I’m still here. I knew them dark days wouldn’t be dark forever and I trusted myself and believed that I could get through anything. I never gave up on myself when others did. That specific time in my life was the lowest for me. I’ll never forget what happened.”
His top 5 artists in the industry are Drake 50 Cent, Jay Z, Benny the Butcher, Millyz, and Joyner Lucas. T Gunna has been writing music since the age of 8.
” I started off writing poetry and turned it into raps.”
He spoke about how he often records in his condo. Also how his support system is solid. He gave advice to the upcoming artist trying to make a name for themselves in their cities and communities.
“Be yourself! Allow others to inspire you and be accepting of new ways of thinking and ideas. Don’t be afraid to try different sounds.”
T Gunna’s favorite song of his own released so far is called, “Big Steppa.”
